The Story of Eureka Street Furniture
From humble beginnings on the 1st of June 1986, Natan and Gillian Brisblat have grown the company from a small shop in Kelvin Grove to 16 showrooms throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales.
This firm, originally a husband and wife operation, now employs over 80 Queenslanders becoming a name synonymous with quality furniture throughout Australia.
Natan and Gillian Brisblat’s three children Daniel, Joel and Leora have followed in their parent’s footsteps, all now playing integral roles in the running of the company. Joel Brisblat who is Executive Officer at Eureka commented,
“Daniel, Leora and myself are so proud of what our parents have achieved, this really is a historic occasion.”
Eureka Street Furniture was the first furniture retailer in Brisbane to care for the environment by making wooden furniture from timber recovered from demolition sites, many well known, like the Coca-Cola factory in James Street, Brett’s Wharves and the Roma Street Rail Yards.
The retailer remains 100% Queensland family owned and operated with Daniel Brisblat Sales Manager expressing,
“We look forward to continue to make houses home for the next 25 years.”
Eureka has expanded to a huge furniture range of modern and contemporary wooden designs in Victorian Ash, Oak, European Beech and Australian Blackwood as well as leather and fabric lounges.
